Post Season Wrap Up

With most of the post-season activities now in the book, it is a good time to put the 2007 to bed.

Our team awards for this year were as follows:

Most Valuable Player--Tina Rodriguez
Most Improved Players--Carissa Nemmers, Patty Troxell

All CCIW First Team--Tina Rodriguez (2nd straight season)
All CCIW Second Team--Caroline Leighton (3rd season for this award)
All CCIW Second Team--Elizabeth Sinclair (1st time selection)

Captains for the 2008 season were announced at the banquet. They will be seniors Tina Rodriguez, Caroline Leighton, and Carissa Nemmers.

All Regional selections have not been announced yet. If any Titans appear on this I'll be sure to post it here.

The NCAA Championship game was played today. Wheaton College completed its undefeated season by defeating Messiah College 1-0 in the finals.

Our 2008 schedule is nearly complete and once a few more details are finalized I will be sure to post it on our website.

For now it is time to a) focus on off-season player development and b) to work on our recruiting class for next fall. We--the entire team of players and coaches--need to commit to putting our best feet forward between now and next August. It is really important that we have a good off season and build momentum and confidence for fall 2008. I am looking forward to the challenge.
